At Train Kids Preschool Academy each child is valued as an individual with unlimited potential.
With the Learn through play methodology children are encouraged to explore and learn through play.
They get to simply be children while developing holistically.
This means that they develop physically, emotionally, socially, cognitively, and linguistically.

Train Kids is a school grounded on Christian beliefs and values with the love of God at the core of everything we do.

OUR HISTORY & ABOUT OUR FOUNDER
The school is the brainchild of one woman, Christali Botha, who has been in education for 45 years and counting.
She studied preschool and Foundation Phase Education for four years in the seventies, earning a Higher Diploma in Education. She then started teaching at various preschools for 7 years and was promoted to lecture on preschool education at tertiary education institutions.
Due to the many changes in Education in the nineties, preschool Education as a Course of Study was terminated. She then studied in another direction and lectured Technology as a school subject for a further 6 years.
All Colleges of Education were closed down in the late nineties and she was promoted as a First Education Specialist at the Education District Office in Alberton for 7 years.
From there she explored different teaching possibilities and positions at Private Education Institutions. She then obtained an assessor's and moderator's qualification in ECD Education.
In 2013 she returned to Preschool Education and as a Facilitator and Assessor for ECD NQF Level 4 in Gauteng. She also lectured in the Birth to Four years Curriculum of the Gauteng Province and the Learn not to Burn Programme of Gauteng. She was also involved in training members of the Social Development Team in the Eastern Cape in the Learn Not to Burn Programme.
While facilitating the numerous training sessions and supporting and assisting a huge number of students at a variety of preschools, a desire and an idea were born to establish a preschool of distinction, one that will adhere to all the by-laws, children acts, constitutions, curricula, and policies, and one that will stand out from the rest.
TRAIN KIDS Preschool Academy was born!

Welcome to the Sweetie Pie class!
My name is Shandré Enslin and I will be your child's teacher in 2026. I completed my NQF Level 4 in 2024 and I am currently in my second year studying towards my Bachelor's of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching. Teaching is a true passion of mine. I strive to teach these young minds with love and patience, guiding them towards their holistic development.
Along with me is Bernadette Williams. Bernadette Williams has been by my side for quite some time, and her passion for teaching and love for children is unmatched.
We look forward to getting to know you and your child. This will be a year filled with blessings, learning through play and of course, lots of fun!
Kwamé Davis
3.5 – 5.5 years
My name is Teacher Kwame Davis, and I am honoured to be part of your child's learning journey this year.
I have completed my NQF 5 qualification, and I am planning to continue my studies further to deepen my knowledge and skills in education. I bring with me five years of experience in Early Childhood Development, all gained right here at Train Kids Preschool Academy. Over the years, I have come to understand that teaching is far more than following a daily lesson plan-it's about guiding children with patience, love, and intention.
As' wee step into 2026, my prayer is that this year will be filled with joy, growth, laughter, and God's grace over every child and family in our class. I look forward to partnering with you, celebrating milestones together, and giving your child a year filled with memorable learning experiences.

I am currently studying towards being a qualified ECD Teacher by obtaining my ECD NQF level 4. I have been with Train Kids since 2024. I am passionate about working with children and being able to contribute toward their development.

Bernice Schrader
6 years - Grade R
Welcome to the Smartie class.
My name is Bernice Schrader. I am 21 years old, and I recently completed my Higher Certificate in Preschool Education (NQF 5) with six distinctions, and I will start with my BEd in Foundation Phase teaching this year. Teaching is not only my profession but truly my calling.
I am deeply passionate about early childhood development, not only in helping children grow academically, socially, and emotionally, but also in guiding them to understand their worth and identity as they grow in God’s image. I believe that every child is uniquely created with a purpose, and it is my joy to nurture their curiosity, confidence, and character each day.
In our classroom, we learn through play, creativity, and routines that help children feel safe, loved, and excited to learn.
Dedré Stephens & Chaniel Bluemeyer

Dedré Stephens – Teacher Marshmallow Class
My name is Dedré or Didi for short, and I have been at Train Kids for 7 years. Teaching is an absolute passion of mine, and I am so excited to be working with you and your child.
I'm married to my best friend, Keven and a proud mom of Ivanka and Ruvern. Both my children are enrolled at Train Kids.
I grew up in Alberton and attended Hoërskool Dinamika, where I matriculated in 2012.
I completed my ECD NQF Level 4 qualification. I believe that a child deserves nothing less than unconditional love and this is what your child will receive in my class and from my assistant, Chaneil Bluhmeyer.

My name is Chaneil. I have been working at Train Kids for several months and absolutely love it.
I am also a mother to a 9-year-old, Kaden.

CURRICULUM
Train Kids Preschool Academy uses the BIRTH TO FOUR CURRICULUM OF GAUTENG DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION and CAPS for Grade R.

Lesson planning for all age groups are done by the teachers in conjunction with the director and principal.
A daily routine is followed that is age appropriate.
Lessons are presented in both Afrikaans and English but the child is addressed in the language the parents prefer.
The REGGIO EMILIA approach is followed by the whole school.

Each child will receive a complete report card for their applicable milestones.
​
Support plans are developed when a challenge is experienced.
​
The whole school is under 24 hour camera surveillance.
POLICIES
ADMISSION
You are welcome to complete the accompanying form do to an application for enrolment.
If your application is successful, you will be notified within 2 days and you will be invited for a meeting to discuss the Enrolment form.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Train Kids Preschool Academy aims to ensure the health and safety of all the people concerned at the school.

Health
Our Health & Safety policy is available on request.
No antibiotics will be administered at the school.
All other medication must be signed in for the principal/vice-principal to administer.
CHANGING TIDES services the school weekly to disinfect the school with a non-toxic, alcohol based disinfectant.
The whole school is cleaned on a daily basis.
Safety
Our friendly security guard is on duty from 06:30 – 08:15 & 14:00 – 17:30.
In between those times he cleans the entire playground.
We are contracted to FOX Security with a medical alert button in the one class.
The principal and one staff member is Level 2 First Aid qualified, other staff members are level 1 qualified.
No person will gain access to the premises without an appointment.
DAILY MENU
Our menu is adapted to the season
We follow a 2 week cycle
All food is of a very good quality and very tasty
Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Snack is served each day
Water is given every hour
We do not cater for Halal, Kosher or Vegetarian dishes
We will accommodate allergies and medical conditions
Friday is: Make-and-bake day!
