At Train Kids Preschool Academy each child is valued as an individual with unlimited potential.
With the Learn through play methodology children are encouraged to explore and learn through play.
They get to simply be children while developing holistically.
This means that they develop physically, emotionally, socially, cognitively, and linguistically.
All through the Train Kids’ guided play method.
Train Kids is a school grounded on Christian beliefs and values with the love of God at the core of everything we do.

OUR HISTORY & ABOUT OUR FOUNDER
The school is the brain child of one woman, Christali Botha, who is at present in Education for 42 years and counting.
She studied preschool and Foundation Phase Education in the seventies for four years, a Higher Diploma in Education. She then started teaching at various preschools for 7 years and was promoted to lecture Preschool Education at tertiary education institutions.
Due to the many changes in Education in the nineties, preschool Education as a Course of Study was terminated. She then studied in another direction and lectured Technology as a school subject for a further 6 years.
All Colleges of Education were closed down in the late nineties and she was promoted as a First Education Specialist at the Education District Office in Alberton for 7 years.
From there she explored different teaching possibilities and positions at Private Education Institutions. She then obtained an assessor`s and moderator`s qualification in ECD Education.
In 2013 she returned to Preschool Education and as a Facilitator and Assessor for ECD NQF Level 4 in Gauteng. She also lectured in the Birth to Four years Curriculum of the Gauteng Province and the Learn not to Burn Programme of Gauteng. She was also involved in training members of the Social Development Team in the Eastern Cape in the Learn not to Burn Programme.
While facilitating the numerous training sessions and supporting and assisting a huge number of students at a variety of preschools, a desire and an idea were born to establish a preschool of distinction, one that will adhere to all the by-laws, children-acts, constitutions, curricula, policies, and one that will stand out from the rest.

OUR PRINCIPAL
My name is Leoni Boucher. I completed my BA degree in Human Science (Education & Psychology) at the old Rand Afrikaans University.

After being a housewife for 16 years, I joined Christali Botha when she opened the school 1 April 2017 and it has become my second home. The school’s logo - TRAIN UP YOUR CHILD IN THE WAY HE SHOULD GO – is something I strongly believe in.
​
At Train Kids we create a loving atmosphere where children feel safe and are taught through play. The best part about this is that I get to play with!
Every child at the school is treated as if they are my own.
I just have the best job and I get to laugh every day!

Babies 3 – 18 months
Welcome to the Sweetie Pie class!
My name is Shandré Enslin and I will be your child’s teacher in 2025.
I completed by NQF Level 4 qualification in Early Childhood Development early in 2024 and will be starting my B.Ed Foundation phase studies this year.
I am engaged to Dylan and we have a son name Connor who is turning 6 years old. Connor attends Train Kids and is in the Grade R class. Teaching is a true passion of mine and I look forward to getting to know your child and watch them develop and grow!
I have two hardworking and loving assistants in Bernadette Williams & Jessica van Vuuren. Bernadette has been at Train Kids for awhile and she is my right hand! The children absolutely adore her.
Jessica completed Matric in 2024 and is looking forward to learning new things and spend time with children. She has adapted well in her practise week during December of 2024.
We make a good team and cannot wait the spend the year teaching these small minds.
It will be a year filled with wonder, fun, learning and lots of adventures!
We are looking forward to getting to know you and your family in 2024.

Welcome to the Jelly Tots class!
My name is Kwamé Davis.
I will be your child's teacher in 2025.
I have completed my NQF Level 4 & 5 qualifications in Early Childhood Development.
I am in a relationship with Mpumelelo.
I like singing and spending time with my family and friends.
I lost my daughter, Twané at birth and miss her dearly.
I have kind and caring assistant in Chanel Fourie, who have been part of Train Kids for a while now - we make a very good team! Together we look forward to making memories.
In the Jelly Tots class, we are excited about learning through play. We will focus on your child’s development, both physically and spiritually.
2025 will be a year filled with fun and laughter, and we look forward to getting to know your family.
Tascha Duijvestijn &
Jolene Rossouw

My name is Tascha Duijvestijn.
I am a qualified preschool teacher and have been at Train Kids since the start of 2019. I am enthusiastic about child development.
My daughter, Rosey is 18 months old. She is also enrolled at Train Kids.
I will be assisted by Jolene Rossouw that have been at Train Kids for a while now. Jolene is busy studying towards her B.Ed Foundation phase degree.
2025 will be a year filled with fun and laughter, and we look forward to getting to know your family.

My name is Leoni Boucher. I will be your child’s teacher in 2025.

My name is Bernice Schrader, and I am excited about building a positive relationship with your child.
I believe that God will bless me with the wisdom and right words to teach these children according to His plan for their lives. I am committed to providing a safe and supportive environment where every child feels valued and proud of their achievements. Ensuring that each student has the opportunity to thrive will be a priority in our class.
I am busy with my Higher Certification in Preschool Education, and I plan to follow that up with a B.Ed degree in the Foundation Phase.
I am engaged to Morné Lourens, and we support each other in everything. We love camping and going on adventures.
I enjoy baking, writing poems, and capturing special moments through photography. Morné always ends up being my assistant.

Dedré Stephens &
Tessleigh-Ann Bock
2.5 - 3.5 years
My name is Dedré or Didi for short. Teaching is an absolute passion of mine and I am so excited to be working with you and your child.
I am married to my best friend Keven and a proud mom of Ivanka and Ruvern. Both my children are enrolled at Train Kids.
I grew up in Alberton. I attended Hoërskool Dinamika and completed Matric in 2012.
I completed my ECD NQF Level 4 qualification.
I believe that a child deserves nothing but unconditional love.
This will be given to your child by me and my assistant, Tessleigh-Ann Bock on a daily basis.
I am Tessleigh-Ann or Tess for short. Teaching has always been a dream for me and working with kids is so much fun. I am a mommy myself and my daughter, Temisha is turning 4 years old this year.

CURRICULUM
Train Kids Preschool Academy uses the BIRTH TO FOUR CURRICULUM OF GAUTENG DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION and CAPS for Grade R.
​
Lesson planning for all age groups are done by the teachers in conjunction with the director and principal.
A daily routine is followed that is age appropriate.
Lessons are presented in both Afrikaans and English but the child is addressed in the language the parents prefer.
The REGGIO EMILIA approach is followed by the whole school.

Each child will receive a complete report card for their applicable milestones.
​
Support plans are developed when a challenge is experienced.
​
The whole school is under 24 hour camera surveillance.
POLICIES
ADMISSION
You are welcome to complete the accompanying form do to an application for enrolment.
If your application is successful, you will be notified within 2 days and you will be invited for a meeting to discuss the Enrolment form.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Train Kids Preschool Academy aims to ensure the health and safety of all the people concerned at the school.
Please read more about our safety measures and SPRINKLE SPRAY.

Health
Our Health & Safety policy is available on request.
No antibiotics will be administered at the school.
All other medication must be signed in for the principal/vice-principal to administer.
CHANGING TIDES services the school weekly to disinfect the school with a non-toxic, alcohol based disinfectant.
The whole school is cleaned on a daily basis.
Safety
Our friendly security guard is on duty from 06:30 – 08:15 & 14:00 – 17:30.
In between those times he cleans the entire playground.
We are contracted to FOX Security with a medical alert button in the one class.
The principal and one staff member is Level 2 First Aid qualified, other staff members are level 1 qualified.
No person will gain access to the premises without an appointment.
DAILY MENU
Our menu is adapted to the season
We follow a 2 week cycle
All food is of a very good quality and very tasty
Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Snack is served each day
Water is given every hour
We do not cater for Halal, Kosher or Vegetarian dishes
We will accommodate allergies and medical conditions
Friday is: Make-and-bake day!
